Bio
Steve has over twenty five years of hands on trial and error experience in the strength and conditioning field. He is RKC certified as well as CPR and First Aid certified. He played football, wrestled,and was on the physical fitness team sponsored by the Marine corps in high school. He also wrestled in college. He was a competitive amateur bodybuilder, winning and placing in many contests such as the AAU Mr.Western America tall class, the Pacific Southwest USA heavyweight class, and winning the Mr. Muscle Beach in Venice, California three times. He also worked with bodybuilder John Heart and helped guide him to win the light heavyweight Natural Mr.Universe title. He earned a second degree black belt in American Kenpo karate. He is a two time USPF California state champion in powerlifting. Steve also coached and participated on the winning 2006 & 2008 USPF California State powerlifting Championship Team. He guided his son Jeff to a national powerlifting title in 2004 in the 13-15 age group and his 69 year old mother Opal to a state championship win and a state record in the deadlift. Steve has also been an advisor on weight training for Liberty Christian High School. He also the founder of the Southern California Kettlebell Club.
Kettlebells
Kettlebells are one of the newest 'old tools' in functional compond exercise training. They've been around for years but have only been re-introduced to America in the past seven years or so by Pavel Tsatsouline. I am a Certified Kettlebell Trainer, having completed the Russian Kettlebell Challenge ('RKC course').
